Artist

Curtis Taylor

Curtis Taylor is a Martu artist who grew up between Bidyadanga in the Kimberley Region, and Parnngurr in the East Pilbara. His practice spans sculptural installation, painting and filmmaking to present urgent narratives that speak across generations, exploring ideas about identity, language, cultural practice and responsibility.

Ngarnda

‘Ngarnda’ translates to pain in Martu language. In this single channel video work, the artist references blood rituals and cultural rites using his own blood and body as a vehicle to bring what’s unseen to the fore.
