Accessibility

  1. Venue Accessibility

Most of our venues are accessible, with some exceptions. Check out our venues page for more detailed information.

If you have questions, need further info, or have any advice or feedback on accessibility at Dark Mofo, please contact Bookings & Enquiries on tickets@mona.net.au or +61 (3) 6277 9978.

  2. Auslan Interpreted Shows

    A Divine Comedy - Sun 18
    Stories After Dark

  3. Companion Cards

Companion Card tickets are only made available to carers of those with a lifelong disability and require government-issued accreditation which will need to be shown at the venue. Please visit www.companioncard.tas.gov.au for more information.

  4. Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available all across Hobart, and at most of our venues. The City of Hobart has more detailed information about inner city services, including accessible parking.

  5. Assistance Animals

Guide dogs and assistance animals are welcome at all Dark Mofo venues. Note that some events may be unsuitable for service dogs due to sensory considerations—please check event details for more information.

  6. Accessibility Content Guide

View our Accessibility Content Guide here. It details aural and visual content ratings, as well as a 'language is no barrier' rating for each artwork.

  7. Audio Descriptions

Dark Mofo has produced audio descriptions for select artworks. For more info, and to listen in, view Audio Descriptions.

  8. Sensory/Relaxed Sessions With Young Leaders of Tasmania

Young Leaders of Tasmania will be on-site during Dark Mofo to assist in private, sensory-friendly sessions for people with disability and their families. We have two sessions on the first weekend of the festival:

    Saturday June 10
Ogoh-Ogoh and Blue Velvet Lounge at Dark Park, 4-5pm.

Purge your fears to our platypus ogoh-ogoh, relax and get a beverage in the Blue Velvet Lounge. Dark Park opens to the public at 5pm and you are welcome to stay and experience the other installations and food trucks. Meet us at the entrance to Dark Park, under the red sign.

    Sunday June 11
Marshmallows around the fire at Winter Feast, 3:15pm-4pm.

Join us around the fires on the Salamanca Lawns to soak up the Winter Feast and toast some marshmallows. The Winter Feast opens to the public at 4pm and you are welcome to stay and check out the full range of food and drink vendors and the performance program. Meet us at the entrance to the Winter Feast, under the red sign.

Because the sites are not open to the public at these times, you may need to wear a hi-vis vest—everyone on site will be wearing one. Attendance is by Expression of Interest, and each session is capped at 100 participants (including families). You can attend either or both sessions.

For more information, contact Young Leaders of Tasmania at events@ylot.org.au or 0428640320 or email olivia.bowman@darklab.net.au

Registrations of interest are now closed.
