FAQ

  1. Free Events

Lots of events in the art program are free, aside from some ticketed exceptions. The Nude Solstice Swim is free (but you do still need to register for a ticket), plus Ogoh-ogoh, and Winter Feast after 9pm. Most free events will not require tickets, so you may need to queue for an unknown amount of time. The Blue Velvet Lounge is a free hangout spot at Dark Park with food, drink and live music.

  2. A detailed breakdown of events, information, daily schedules, and maps to guide you through the darkness. Redeem your pre-purchased Print Program ticket at PW1, Dark Park, Odeon or Mona box offices. Or buy one on the ground when you get here, subject to availability.

  3. You can download print versions of the schedule, art walk map, and venue map. Access our interactive map here.

  4. Info Booth

The Info Booth is a resource for maps, programs and general information from our friendly staff. Find it at Morrison St Car Park, Salamanca during the festival.

    Opening Times

    • Thursday 15–Sunday 18 June, 3–9pm
  5. Getting Around

Wander around the waterfront and city from venue to venue, and get the blood flowing to the extremities. Check the map; festival venues are pinpointed, and most are within walking distance of the Hobart waterfront and CBD.

  6. Free Bus Rides

Metro is offering free rides in the Hobart network from 3–9pm on Sunday 18 June to support travel to Ogoh-ogoh: The Burning. Most buses arrive at the Hobart Central Bus Interchange on the corner of Macquarie and Elizabeth Street, which is within walking distance from almost all Dark Mofo venues. Routes and timetable available here.

  7. Under 18s

Events are all ages unless otherwise specified. Under 18 ticket types are available to select for each all ages show. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Proof of age may be requested upon entry.

  8. Cash

Dark Mofo is cashless, so make sure to bring your card. This applies to all transactions made at our box offices (including tickets, print program and band merch) and festival bars.

  9. Lost Property

If you lose something (other than your dignity), contact Bookings & Enquiries on +61 (3) 6277 9978 or tickets@mona.net.au. Please include your full name, a contact phone number and as many details as possible about the item.

  10. Smoking

Dark Mofo is a smoke-free event. The Winter Feast, Night Mass, Dark Park and MAC2 have designated smoking areas. Look for the signs.

  11. Covid-19

COVID-19 still exists, so stay on top of any relevant government directives.

  12. Road Closures

There will be some road closures and traffic disruptions across the Hobart CBD during the festival. See the full list of road closures.
